USA Glossybox May 2013

This will be my last glossybox post. I have official canceled this service as I am fed up with them and can no longer afford to spend my money on their cruddy service. I am sick of their cruddy shipping, cruddy customer service, and lately cruddy boxes. This is my May box:

AmorePacific: Color Control Cushion Compact
Etre Belle: Collageb and Aloe Vera Hydro Mask
European Wax Center: The Exfoliate and Slow it Body Wash
My Prime: Multi-Purpose Mattifying Moisturizer
Nicka K New York: Absolute! Perfume Stick
Sebastian Professional: Volupt Spray

The only product in this box I was excited about was the AmorePacfic CC cream, but they managed to give the darkest color to someone who filled out their box survey as "fair" skinned. Thank you glossybox. The Etre Belle was a single mask, the European Wax Center were foil packets, and the My Prime is useless to someone with dry skin. What a great one year anniversary box. I have signed up for PopSugar Must Have Box (I have heard amazing things about this service) and you can expect to see an update on this box hopefully later this month! =)

If you care to order this horrendous box you can purchase it from http://www.glossybox.com/ at $21 a month, but I don't recommend you do so.

USA April Glossybox

Once again, Glossybox let me down by coming pretty much in May. Really glossy? Well, its here and this is what I received:

Alterna Haircare: Bamboo Style Boho Waves Tousled Texture Mist
BVLGARI: Eau Parfumee au thé Blanc Tea Bag for Bath
The Honest Company: Honest Organic Lip Balm
TIGI: Cosmetics Glow Blush
Wash with Joe: Coffeemint Invigorating Body Wash
Le Metier De Beaute: Replenishing Daily Solution

I'm not really thrilled with this box. I actually have not been thrilled with a glossybox since January. I think that if they don't step it up I'm going to be canceling very soon. If anyone wants to use the Le Metier Coupon, you can go online to http://www.lemetierdebeaute.com/ and purchase the Glossybox + LMDB lotion and use the code glossybox for $75 off.

USA March Glossybox

My gloss box came today, and I have to say I'm not as excited for these boxes as I used to be. Not to say that this box's contents didn't excite me (in my opinion it is a way better box than February and I will actually use these products), I'm just not as excited about the whole subscription box idea in general anymore. Anyway, here are the contents:

Elite Models: Liner (brown)
Koh Gen Do Cosmetics: Oriental Plants Emollient Cream
Modelco: Cheek and Lip Tint (red)
Prestiche: Essential Oil Bar Soap (Lemoncella)
Sebastian Professional: Shaper Fierce

This box also came with a Prestiche gift certificate.

Glossybox is a monthly subscription service for $21 a month and can be purchased from glossybox.com.

January USA Glossybox Review

Sorry for this review being so late, but I didn't actually receive my January glossybox till February and I wanted to pump out those Barney's reviews. Here it is:

Estee Lauder: Sumptuous Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume Mascara

Three different high-volume fibers create audacious, false lash effects. Lustrous color leaves eyes brighter, wider, more seductive then ever. Build bigger, bolder, more extreme lashes at the Estee Lauder counter today.

I was not completely in love with this mascara, however my friend (who got my spare glossybox) loved this formula. We went to that convention I told you about a few weeks ago together and she brought this mascara with her to use she loved it that much, So although it wasn't my favorite, it is more likely worth trying.

Fresh: Umbrian Clay Mattifying Serum

Umbrian Clay, Fresh's proprietary ingredient, has a uniquely high-mineral content that works to neutralize acidity, purifying the complexion. this treatment formula tones and hydrates while controlling shine and minimizing the appearance of pores.

As stated many times in the past, I have dry skin. So this isn't really the product for me. I did try it once though, so I could review it for you all, and I will say that it does exactly what it says it does: it mattifies, tones, and minimizes the appearance of pores.

Le Metier de Beaute: Replenishing Daily Solution

This rich, emollient formula protects, conditions and hydrates while it nourishes, rejuvenates and detoxifies skin, restoring a healthy suppleness to your skin. Paraben-free.

I absolutely love this product and was incredibly excited to find out it would be in this months box. I refuse to spend the $225 price tag for this product, but instead have managed to get samples every time I am at a Le Metier counter. This product hydrates my poor dry skin and makes it feel smooth and supple. If ever I would spend this ridiculous price tag for a product, it would be on this.

Narciso Rodriguez: for her Eau de Toilette spray

A fragrant harmony of music, intimately refined with a floral facet developing gently and slowly, rounding out into the feminine warm tones of sun-kissed skin, dusted in soft, velvet-like sensuality.

I feel like at this point I am being very repetitive when I say that I hate finding fragrance samples in my sample boxes, now with that said, however, I found this to be not the worst of them. It was actually quite a sweet and pleasant fragrance.

OPI: Can't Let Go Liquid Sand Nail Lacquer

A unique matte purple shade with subtle accents of reflective shimmer. This long wearing liquid sand lacquer dries to a matter finish which means no top coat is necessary! Apply base coat and two coats of color for full capacity.

I just went through my pictures and cannot believe I didn't take one when I had this on. I love this color and will absolutely use it again and again. I actually really want to get the other sand colors. It is one of the coolest colors I have ever seen. It literally looks like sand on your nails. Too cool!!! =)

Sebastian Professional: Potion 9

The ultimate versatile styling cream infused with nine botanical extracts to help restore lost moisture and rejuvenate the healthy look of your hair. Perfect for styling your wet or dry hair into multiple looks with flexible hold.

I am a big fan of this product. I would more call this a leave in conditioner than a styling cream, although I haven't actually used it in my dry hair. I use this in my wet hair and it leaves my hair soft, shiny, and manageable with tamed and frizz free hair. Glossybox definitely knows how to pick hair products.

Tarte: glamazon pure performance 12-hour lipstick

Achieve vivid long-lasting color with a superb blend of emollient-rich butters (mango, avocado, and shea) encapsulated in tart's 12-hour power formula. Helps to minimize the appearance of fine lines leaving your lips with a perfect, plumped-up appearance.

I received this lipstick in fierce, which is a very orange based red. I'm not sure if my picture fully captures how much orange is in this (you can really see this in a comparison with a blue-based red). I absolutely love this formula. It is incredibly long lasting (I had trouble removing the swatch) and is really quite moisturizing. I can't wear this color without looking like a clown, but I will absolutely be investing some time in checking out the other colors available in this formula.

USA Winter Luxebox and USA December Glossybox Review

So now that I finally have my January glossybox, it was time to review December's box.

Ecru New York Cosmetic Hair Care - Acacia Protein Oil - $30/1.7 oz

This multi-tasking elixir provides superb conditioning and moisturizing while reducing drying time, eliminating frizz and mending split ends. Protect your hair against heat damage with this restoring and smoothing hair serum.

Don't get me wrong, I love hair serums and oils. I use argon oil every day in my hair and have loved passed oils given in glossy boxes (and other boxes), but this I did not like. It did not reduce drying time and it made my hair feel greasy (so I guess it did condition and moisturize and eliminate frizz). I forgot what it was called, but the oil given to us in September I loved so much I actually bought, this I have used twice and now will most likely be thrown out. Not a winner.

Forest Essentials Luxurious Ayurveda - Madurai Jasmine and Mogra Bath and Shower Oil - $22/6.8 oz

This after bath and shower moisturizer is a seductive blend of essential and all-natural oils formulated to leave your skin smooth with a subtle, seductive scent. Apply this oil on wet skin to seal in moisture.

This product I liked. Because of the Jasmine it actually smells a bit like the Rodin oil (though far less luxurious). It isn't too greasy and does absorb pretty quickly into the skin. I'm also pretty sure I received a full size bottle of this stuff. Not my favorite bath oil as in I probably wouldn't repurchase, but not terrible either. It is moisturizing and I do enjoy the scent.

Heartland Fragrance Co. - Bath Salts - $10/30 oz

Indulge in healing aromatherapy with these 100% pure Epsom bath sales. Treat yourself to a full body boost with these herb-infused accents in your bathing routine. Use weekly to dramatically reduce tension and refresh your skin.

These smelled pretty good and came in a pretty large bag. I don't really use salts when I bathe (I prefer bath bombs and  the like), but these weren't terrible. Theres supposed to be a lot of amazing properties to bathing with bath salts. Made my skin feel soft, not a whole lot more to say about these.

Oscar Blandi - Pronto Dry Heat Protectant Spray - $23/4 oz

A dry spray protectant enriched with keratin proteins and paraban free. This product is your best defense against heat styling and hot tools. The unique formula strengthens and protects your precious tresses, enhances shine and ensures a firm hold - prepare for fabulous hairstyling.

I actually like Oscar Blandi stuff. I'm pretty sure this exact item was recently in birchbox, so I can imagine those ladies who received this again weren't too thrilled. I on the other hand liked this. I can't really attest for heat protectant as my hair stands up to the heat well enough, but it did make my hair shinier and held onto my style for a bit longer (I mean I shower every day anyway, but it lasted all day without frizzing).

Pleats Please by Issey Miyake - Eau de Toilette - $92/3.4 oz

A fashion forward fragrance inspired by world renowned designer Issey Miyake's iconic Pleats Please ready wear line. Enjoy the effervescent, sensual, and addictive notes which embody the essence of joy, femininity, and elegance.

I really wish that subscription boxes would stop sending perfume samples. I like my perfume and will most likely not purchase yours. It is one of the reasons I cancelled my birchbox. With that said, this isn't a terrible fragrance and I have worn it a few times. I know that many others were really excited about this being in their box. I would have rather received just about anything else.

Zoya Nail Lacquers - $8/.5 oz

These uniquely ornate nail lacquers will transform your nails into jewels. The long wearing and toxin-free formula will keep your nails sparkling all season, and looking their glossy best.

I used glossy boxes zoya storm on all the nails except the accent nail which I used Luxeboxes Essie in Leading Lady. I liked this polish, it was very pretty and quite on season. It was a lovely black with white glitter in it.

Jewelmint - Various styles - $29.99

Inspired by the runway, vintage jewelry and on-trend celebrity style, Jewelmint.com offers a versatile jewelry collection each month and recommends pieces that match your personal style.

I don't really like costume jewelry, so I gave this ring to my mother. I just feel bad because I gave it to her before I took a picture of it and you can't really see it in the original pictures. Oh well, I don't really think it was any great loss.

Considering how much I disliked the fall luxebox, I was really pleasantly surprised by the winter one. I used pretty much all of the products in here and some of them (such as the kabuki brush) I use everyday.

Eyeko Mini Skinny Brush Mascara

The dispersed bristles and slim design of our Skinny Brush grab and capture the shortest lashes to lengthen and extend. Use eyeko skinny brush mascara for perfect luscious lashes.

I really liked this product. I loved what it did for the lashes. It lengthened them and thickened them without making them clumpy. They were lush and dark and wonderful. The only thing I wasn't warned about was the fact that this is a waterproof formula. I don't like nor use waterproof formulas. I ended up giving this to a friend, but had it not been waterproof this might have been my new favorite mascara.

Essie Nail Lacquer in Leading Lady

Get into the holiday spirit this season by decorating your nails with Essie's latest holiday collection with this supreme deep red with glitter. Free of DBP, toluene, and formaldehyde.

You can see the image of this nail polish above. It was a lovely red sparkle. It is simply a gorgeous color. I love this polish and will absolutely use it again and again.

Orland Eye Contour

A treatment specially designed to provide true biological rest for the fragile skin around the eyes.

This stuff burns for a few seconds after putting it on, but I can defiantly see the difference. It brightens and plumps up the skin under the eye. I just can't believe how expensive this is (and ultimately the price of the sample)! I might have recommended this to my mother if not for that.

Marc Anthony Beach Spray

Create natural, effortless, beach hair worn loose, soft, and wavy with this Marc Anthony Beach Spray.

I'm going to be perfectly honest, I have not used this nor the Marc Anthony Curl Defining Lotion (seen below). I wear my hair straight nearly every single day. I might try these out in the summer where I am more likely to let my natural hair out, but not now. I even wrote on their survey that I wear my hair straight so I am not particularly sure why they sent this to everyone.

Marc Anthony Strictly urls Curl Defining Lotion

This alcohol-free, lightweight, non-sticky formula enriched with Vitamin E and Vitamin B binds to the curl strands to create definition, while leaving your curls bouncy and soft.

Donna Karen - Woman

The strength and softness of woman is expressed through creamy notes of orange flower than delicately wrap the confident signature core of Haitian vetiver and sandalwood.

As stated above, I am not a fan of receiving perfumes in subscription boxes. However, this is an exception. I mostly hate them because they give you these tiny vials that I can get as samples anywhere.  This was an absolute deluxe sized sample (its the oddly shaped bottle all the way to the far left in the image above). It smelled really good as well. I gave this to a friend who loved the scent and was very appreciative!

Kerastase Cristalliste Lumier Liquide

A weightless serum with a radiant shine that will leave the hair shiny, smooth, and soft to the touch.

I did not like the sample size of this. It was house in the sample size tubes one usually finds for perfumes. I did like the product. It did all the things the glossybox one promised. It made my hair lush and shiny, moisturized, and frizz-free. I might consider purchasing this in the future.

Loose Button Kabuki Brush

A kabuki brush that works with many different types of makeup, delicately made to accentuate every feature.

This was perhaps my favorite item out of both boxes. Oddly enough, I don't own a kabuki brush, and as such this was a welcome addition to my brush family. I now use this brush almost daily. I absolutely love this thing!

Loosebutton USA was only available for a promotional period and is no longer available to purchase in the states (one can still get the Canadian one if they live there). Glossybox is a monthly subscription box that is $21 a month and can be purchased from http://www.glossybox.com/

November Glossybox Review

I'm sorry this post is so late, but I have still not received the numb style argon oil missing from this box. I called them months ago and I was promised it would be here in two weeks. I have now emailed them several times and called hundreds of times. They have yet to pick up the phone or answer my emails. I am disgusted with them and quite frankly I give up and will review this box as is. I will gladly update this post if I ever receive the missing product, though I doubt that will happen, which is ridiculous since it was the most expensive item in my box and the one I wanted the most.

Illamasqua Lip and Eye Medium Pencil - $20/0.5 oz

Designed to glide over your skin and create a long-lasting highly pigmented finish, this creamy pencil lets you write a different story with every look. Use it to create sultry eyes or sensuous lips.

This pencil is as smooth and wonderful as they say it is. I originally received a black pencil, but traded for a light blue. It is creamy and goes on like a dream. My only caveat is that it won't seem to work on my waterline. I'm not quite sure why. However this looks great on both the lips and as eyeliner. It is quite a fun color and item.

Lierac Gommage Sensoriel - $30/3.5 oz

This unique gel-oil texture scrub transforms into a milk upon contact with damp skin for skin smoothing, toning, and invigorating exfoliation. A mix of three white flower extracts and four precious botanical oils regenerate and softens the skin.

This was probably my favorite item in the box. It took some playing with to get it out of the tube (I think the opening was too small for the exfoliating beads), but once I got it out it was wonderful. It smells great and makes my skin feel fantastic. If I didn't have more exfolients than necessary I might have purchased this. I liked that it wasn't too harsh (since it turns to a milky substance upon contact with water), but at the same time was exfoliating enough to get rid of dead skin and dirt. I loved this stuff.

Nume style arganics by nume argon oil - $59/4 oz

A perfect compliment to any hair an skin care regiment, this Argon Oil is rich in Vitamin E and another beneficial fatty acids. Non-greasy and specially formulated for rapid penetration, the oil brings a whole new level of shine and luster to even the most ravaged and damaged hair and skin.

This sounds awesome, I only wish I actually got to try this.

Perfumies Solid Perfume Stick - $7/0.7 oz

A perfect travel companion, these slender and elegant solid perfume sticks allow you to touch up your fragrance on the go. These convenient perfume sticks have an all natural base, no preservative, paraban free and are never tested on animals.

This product came very squishes inside the tube. I put it in the freezer to make it solid again, which helped me use the product, but didn't change the fact that it was not a pleasant smell. I did not like this product at all, but then again I am very picky with my perfumes. I have to admit, I kind of liked the idea of a solid perfume. I can image it would be great for travel, I just didn't like the scent.

Skin and Co Roma Truffle Serum: Hydro-Toning Day Face Serum - $36/1.01 oz

Give your face a boost and slow down the signs of aging using this italian serum infused with Peptides, pure extracts of Tuber Melanosporum and Hyaluronic Acid. Use daily for a brighter more even tones complexion.

I used this for two days, but this made me break out, so I can't really adequately review this other than to say that people with sensitive skin may not like this. It did have a pleasant odor and I liked how it felt on my skin.

All in all, as you can probably see, I was not thrilled with this box or with glossy box's costumer service this month. To be honest, I wasn't completely thrilled with December's box either. January's box is supposed to be a collaboration with the Man Repeller and is supposed to be an awesome box. Let's hope it is because I am going to seriously consider canceling if it isn't.

Winter USA Luxebox and December USA Glossybox

Today was a wonderful mail day for me. I spent a lovely afternoon playing at the Nars counter in Lord and Taylor and at Lush and come home happy to play with my new samples and low and behold I have my luxebox and glossybox waiting for me at my door! I'm sorry I haven't received last month's glossybox yet, but I still am waiting on that product that was missing from my box! I have to say, considering all the negative comments I had about the fall luxebox, loose button MORE than made up for it here. I am thrilled with what I received. This season the products came in a lovely silky bag with the loose button logo instead of the silky handkerchief from the fall. Well, without further ado, here are the things I received.

Eyeko Mini Skinny Brush Mascara
Essie Nail Lacquer in Leading Lady
Orlane Eye Contour
Marc Anthony Beach Spray
Donna Karen Perfume in Woman
Kerastase Cristalliste Lumiere Liquide
Marc Anthony Strictly Curls Defining Lotion
Loose Button Kabuki Brush

Ecru New York Cosmetic Hair Care
Forest Essentials Luxurious Ayurveda
Heartland Fragrance Co. Bath Salts
Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Heat Protect Spray
Pleats Please by Issry Miyake
Zoya Nail Lacquers
Jewelmint ring

I am really excited about both of these boxes. The nail polish color from my glossybox is very similar to a Butter London color I was planning on purchasing, so I'm really pleased about that. Any of you get these boxes? Were yours the same?

The USA loose button luxebox was a 2 season event and will not be taken forward. So it is not something you can subscribe to, but glossybox is a monthly subscription service for $21 a month and can be subscribed to at http://www.glossybox.com/

November USA Glossybox

Sorry for the cruddy pictures. I don't have a camera and take these from my cell phone and the pictures don't seem to come out that well. I was super excited today when my glossybox arrived as I didn't even receive tracking information yet. That excitement quickly dwindled when I opened my box and discovered it was missing a product. Is it just me or do I seem to be having really crappy beauty luck lately? Funny thing is I was thinking to myself that it felt a bit too light as I was unwrapping it. I guess I'll have to call them on Monday. Anyway, here are the products that were supposed to be in my box:

Illamasqua Lip and Eye Medium Pencil (in Black)
Lierac Gommage Sensoriel (it's an exfoliator)
Nume Style Arganics by NuMe Argan Oil (what's missing)
Perfumies Solid Perfume Stick (in cucumber)
Skin and Co Roma Ruffle Serum: Hydro-Toning Day Face Serum

Glossybox is a monthly subscription service that is $21 a month. If you wish to purchase the December box before Monday, you can use the code Black40 and get 40% off the December box. You can order this at http://www.glossybox.com/

USA Glossybox October

So my glossybox finally came today! YAY! So here it is:

Alessandro Pedix Heel Rescue Balm
Alterna Bamboo Luminous Shine Mist
Carol's Daughter Shea Souffle in Almond Cookie
Heartland Fragrances Exfoliating Loofa Soap in Blood Orange
Modelco Lip Duo

I'm super excited to try this all out. My only complaint is that the Alterna spray was leaking when I got it and was almost empty and all over my box. =( I called glossybox up and they said they would send me out a new one and I should receive it soon, but I had to throw out my box and I do collect those. Oh well! At least I'll get a new one. I do have to say it smelled really good though.

Review on September Glossybox products

So while I might be late to the game as far as unboxing goes, I felt that I really wanted to review each of the products in my September glossybox as at this point I think I have adequately tested each. I am really a big fan of glossybox and I hope that each box continues to be as good as the last.

Koh Gen Do cleansing water $13/3.38 oz –

Made from mineral-rich Japanese hot spring water, this best selling spa water is infused with six essential herbs to protect and nurture the skin. In a single sweep, it gently removes makeup and skin’s toughest impurities

I had never heard of this brand before I received this item and was shocked to see it was something that Sephora sells. Well, I guess that is why we get these boxes, isn’t it? I seriously loved this. I put a couple drops on a cotton pad and then press it onto my eye for a few seconds to let it soak and then wipe. This stuff seriously removes all of my eye makeup and it did it gently. No stinging at all and from the description it sounds pretty all natural. I will definitely be purchasing this when I run out!

Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream SPF 42 $29.99/1.69 oz –

Hailing from Korea, this blemish balm, also known as BB cream, is a multi-tasking powerhouse for the face. This multi-use cream provides light coverage, soothes, protects, and moisturizes. Suitable for all skin types.

I have tried two BB creams in the past and was completely turned off by them. One was way to orange and the other would not set into my skin, it just kind of sat on top and looked really fake and awful. I pretty much gave up the idea as not for me and moved on with my life. This product has completely changed that view! It really is a fantastic product. It makes my skin look perfect, doesn’t grease me up, and I really love the high spf that many tinted moisturizers don’t have. This is my go to foundation every morning!

Global Keratin Hair Shampoo and Conditioner $20.00/10.1 oz each –

Nourished with plant extracts, this superior smoothing shampoo will purify and moisturize the scalp and hair.

This gentle moisturizing conditioner puts the finishing touch on your tresses and leaves your hair smooth, radiant, and revitalized.

I have now been using these shampoos for around 2 weeks and although I don’t notice that big of a difference in my hair, it isn’t really hurting my hair either. I had actually just run out of shampoo when my box arrived and so I was really thrilled to have a new shampoo to play with before having to run out and buy a new one. I can’t say I would purchase this, but if someone gave it to me I would certainly use it.

Kryolan for glossybox moisture rich lipstick in glossy pink $14/0.14 oz –

Treat your lips to a creamy, long lasting lipstick enriches with vitamin E to stimulate and hydrate your lips. This perfect pop of glossy pink compliments all skin tones and lifestyles.

This lipstick was in a fantastic nude pink and I have worn it several times already. It is quite moisturizing and does not dry out my lips at all. It really is a pleasure to wear as far as lipsticks go. I could always use a new lipstick as I love lipsticks and wear them nearly every day, so this was really a delight to see in my box.

Overall, as you can most likely tell, I really loved everything in this box and look forward to the spa themed October box. As long as glossy keeps delivering boxes like this I will continue to subscribe! =)

Glossybox is $21 a month and can be purchased from www.glossybox.com
